STEP 1
Starting with Making Eco-Friendly Makhar • We are going to make the Eco Friendly temple for Ganesha with waste material like news papers, corrugated box etc. • Take the newspapers, cut them in to half. • Roll the paper with the help of the barbeque stick to make the long paper sticks. Secure the ends with Fevicol A+. • Let it dry • You have to make more than 100 of such sticks for the temple of the Ganesha. • Refer to the image
STEP 2
Making of Eco-Friendly Makhar • Take recycled news papers. • Cut the full sheet into half. • Take the half sheet and fold it in to thin flat strips about 1" broad. • Stick the ends with Fevicol MR. • Make about 40 such strips. • Take each newspaper strip and start weaving in an alternate manner (weaving and wafting)
STEP 3
Final Mat for Eco-Friendly Makhar • Your mat will look like this • We are going to place Ganesha idol on it.
STEP 4
Shaping of Eco-Friendly Makhar • Take the corrugated box, cut and remove the upper side flap of the box with paper cutter. • Draw the jharoka on three side flaps. Cut and remove the jharoka neatly • Refer to the image
STEP 5
Sticking Paper Sticks on the Eco-Friendly Makhar • Stick the paper sticks in cross hatching style all over on the corrugated box temple with Fevicol A+. • Let it dry.
STEP 6
Draft of the Eco-Friendly Makhar • Your temple with the newspaper sticks will look like this.
STEP 7
Assembling the Eco-Friendly Makhar • Take another flap of the box to make the makhar of the temple. Stick it on the base with Fevicol A+. Let it dry • Similarly stick the paper sticks to the base of the temple with Fevicol A+. • Stick weaved paper mat on the top side of the paper stick base with Fevicol A+. • Let it dry completely.
STEP 8
Painting the Makhar Using Neon Colours • Paint the temple with corrugated box, news paper sticks with Acrylic Colours Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Prussian Blue 19, White 27, Teal Blue 68, Neon Yellow 011, Green 012, Orange 017, Pink 01 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352. • Let it dry
STEP 9
Final Look of Eco-Friendly Makhar • Your final temple with idol will look like this
