Description :
Create a beautiful, handcrafted lotus-shaped tray perfect for a Haldi ceremony during the wedding season. This project uses Fevicryl Mouldit to sculpt delicate lotus petals and combine them with vibrant, hand-painted MDF coasters, all arranged to hold a bowl of haldi in the center.
STEP 1 : Procure the base
- Let us build a Haldi Ceremony Lotus Tray.
- Take a circular MDF Board for the base.
STEP 2 : Sculpt the Petals
- Take your Fevicryl Mouldit, mix the resin and hardener well to make a smooth dough.
- On a flat slab, roll out the dough to make it even thicker.
- With your clay modelling tools, cut out thin, elongated leaf shapes for the lotus petals.
STEP 3 : Build the Lotus Base
- Take a large circular MDF board.
- Using Fevicryl Fabric Glue, stick to the edges of the clay leaf shapes around the border of the board.
STEP 4 : Layer the base
- Place another circular MDF board of the same size on top to hold the petals in place while they dry.
- Add more clay leaves between the first set of petals to make the lotus look fuller and more complete.
STEP 5 : Paint the Bases
- Once the lotus base is dry, paint the entire base, including the clay petals and the bottom MDF board, with Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White 27.
- Paint your smaller circular MDF board with the same white base coat.
- Let everything dry completely.
STEP 6 : Paint the base
- Now, take your smaller MDF board and paint a design on it using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White 27.
STEP 7 : Paint the design
- Pick Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Red and Yellow to paint the design on the mini MDF coaster.
- Let it dry.
STEP 8 : Scribble the word down
- On the other MDF board (the one you used to help shape the petals), use a pencil and tracing paper to trace words or a design before painting it with a mix of red, yellow, and green.
STEP 9 : Assemble the Tray
- Once all the painted pieces are dry, place the two decorated MDF boards between the petals of your lotus base.
- In the center, place a small, transparent bowl.
STEP 10 : Final Look
- Your beautiful, handmade lotus tray is now ready for the Haldi function, serving as a stunning centerpiece!
