STEP 1 : Beginning to paint the terracotta vases
Take plain terracotta vases of different shapes and sizes. We need to first give a base coat of of Acrylic Colour - White 27; with this the colour would stay brilliant and dense and also give a good finishing. Let this base coat dry completely, before you paint with your desired colour. We have used Acrylic Colour – Teal 68.
STEP 2 : Tracing the pattern / design on the terracotta vases
We have chosen varied floral and geometrical patterns for the vases. Draw and trace the patterns on the vases placing them aesthetically all around and on the periphery of the vases with the help of black carbon paper.
STEP 3 : Adding colour to the vases
Paint the motifs traced on the vases with Acrylic Colours – Black 02 and Coral Red 66 as you can see in the image. Let the paint dry completely.
STEP 4 : Painting a different shape of terracotta vase
Now the next vase that we chose, paint it entirely using Acrylic Colour – Salmon Pink 65. Let the paint dry completely and then trace the motifs in a similar manner using black carbon paper.
STEP 5 : Painting the motifs
Using Acrylic Colours – Maroon 14, White 27 and Greenery 67 paint the motifs in an aesthetic manner, like you see in the image. Leave it to dry completely. At the end you may apply a coat of varnish for durability. Let it dry.
