Description :

This terracotta vase is beautifully adorned with traditional Warli art, a tribal art form from Maharashtra, India, known for its simple geometric shapes depicting daily life and nature. The vase features a captivating blue gradient, painted with various shades of Fevicryl Acrylic Colours, transitioning from a lighter teal at the top to a deeper blue at the base. White Warli figures, including dancing people and stylized trees, intricately decorate the surface, creating a striking cultural piece.

STEP 1 : Procure the base
  • Let us start by procuring a terracotta vase for the base.
  • Start with a clean, dry terracotta vase. Brush off any dust or loose particles.

STEP 2 : Paint the base
  • Apply a base coat of Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White 27 using a flat brush. This will help the colours pop on the surface.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 3 : Trace the design
  • Using a sharp pencil, lightly sketch traditional Warli figures like dancers, plants, and geometric borders around the surface.
  • Maintain symmetry and rhythm in the figures to keep the flow of the design intact.
STEP 4 : Paint the design & Final Touches
  • With a fine liner brush, carefully trace over the pencil sketches using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Paint the rim using Ultramarine Blue 23 for a neat, finished look.
  • Use steady hands for cleaner strokes; this part brings your pot to life.
  • Let it dry completely before use or display.
