STEP 1 : How to begin making the decorative plates ?
We have chosen to take inspiration from the Persian jali motifs to make the decorative plates. So start by taking 3 aluminum plates and trace Persian jali motifs that you like on each one of them.
STEP 2 : How to prepare the base of the plate?
Using tissue papers of a 2 ply thickness, stick it very neatly and carefully on the base of the plate with the help of Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
STEP 3 : Tracing / transferring the motifs on the prepared base of the plate
Take the Persian motif designs that you chose. Draw each one of the 3 different A4 white papers. We have used a Persian jali pattern for our plates. Once drawn, trace the same jali pattern on the prepared base of the plate with the help of a yellow carbon paper. Make sure the design is well within the periphery of the plate, as seen in the image.
STEP 4 : Time to outline and paint the plates
Using 3D Cone Outliner – White 707, outline the jali pattern neatly. Very aesthetically, paint few areas of the pattern with Teal Blue 68 and Coral Red 66, giving that Persian look and effect to the jali design. It needs to dry completely.
STEP 5 : Glass Colours to enhance the Persian pattern
To further enhance the motifs, paint the remaining areas with Water based – Glass Colours – Tomato Red 851, Golden Yellow 852, Sea Blue 853 and Orange 860. Since they are water based glass colours make sure the surface of the plate is not tilted or at a slant. Leave it to dry completely on a flat surface
STEP 6 : Now the final finishing touches
To now give the beautiful plates their final finished look, make a border on the rim of the plate with 3D Cone Outliners – White 707 and glass colours - Tomato Red 851, Golden Yellow 852, Sea Blue 853, Ultramarine Blue 859 and Orange 860. Your Persian inspired decorative plates are ready; they just need to dry completely.
