Canvas 12" x 18", Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Cerulean Blue 232, Sky Blue 263, Paper, Cloth scraps, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Tissue paper

Makar Sankranti is celebrated all over India with a lot of frolic. In some parts of the country after the pooja people indulge in lot of fun activities like kite flying, bull fighting and boat racing. To signify the importance of boat racing during the festival here we are with an innovative technique which will interest the kids and elders alike. In this project we use snippets of paper and cloths left over from the previous projects. So it’s like making best out of waste. Let create!
STEP 1
Take a 12” by 18” canvas.
Paint dab cerulean blue and sky blue and create a shading effect.
STEP 2
Make zig zag waves using sky blue colour.
Take a few tissues, tear them in shape of clouds and crumple them to give an effect of clouds. Stick them to the canvas using fabric glue.
STEP 3
Take multicolour scraps of paper and cloths and cut right angle triangle from them in various sizes.
STEP 4
Cut boat shapes using papers of different colours.
Stick them on the canvas using fabric glue or decoupage glue.
At the end stick small flags.
