STEP 2 : Drawing the design on the paper
• Take the cutouts of the rectangles and draw the zig- zag pattern on it by leaving ½” border from all the sides. Refer to the image
STEP 3 : Cutting the paper design
• Cut and remove the triangles which are in between the zig zag pattern with paper cutter.
STEP 4 : Folding
• Fold the two cut out design rectangles on folding lines. • Refer to the image.
STEP 5 : Filling Glass Colours
• Take an OHP sheet, and paint the same zig-zag pattern with water based glass colours of your choice. • We have taken tomato red 851, pink 856 and orange 860. • Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Assembly of the lantern
• After drying stick the painted OHP from the one side of the card paper cut out with Fabric Glue. • Let it dry.
STEP 7 : Gluing the Lantern
• Join and stick two rectangles together to form the rectangular box shape using Fabric Glue. • Leave it to dry.
STEP 8 : Making Tassels
• Take the golden thread and wooden beads. Pass the thread through the beads to make the beautiful strands to dangle the lantern. • You will need 4 such strands of beads. • Stick the thread inside the rectangular lantern at four corners with Fabric Glue or punch holes on four sides to tie the threads. • Attach the golden tassels towards the end of the lantern to the thread to secure the ends.
STEP 9 : Embellishing the lantern.
• Decorate the lantern by sticking the pink and white ornamental stones with Fabric Glue. • Leave it to dry completely.
