STEP 1
Take 3 packets of Shilpkar resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make an even dough.
STEP 2
Take the dough ball, roll it to make a leaf shape. Take the clay diya and embed it into the leaf shape. Refer to the image.
STEP 3
Take 2 more packets of Shilpkar resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make an even dough Take the dough, roll it to make a thick coil. Form the coil into a “C” shape to make the trunk of the elephant. Merge the legs and the upper body part of the elephant neatly with a little amount of clay. Take some dough and make the ears and stick them appropriately. Leave it till dry. Make 2 such elephant diyas.
STEP 4
Paint the diya using Acrylic Colour - Teal Blue 68 and Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic - Gold 352. Paint the caparisons on the elephant using 3D Cone Outliner Non Sticky Pearl Metallic - Gold 352. Let it dry completely.

Decorate the elephant by sticking blue and red coloured ornamental stones using Fabric Glue. Let it dry. Clay being so versatile, we have made an elephant one can make any figure or an animal or bird for that matter and make decorative diyas for special occasions. Clay modelling being popular for ages has brought in varied avenues where it can be used for decorative purposes and curios too.
