Description :

Groundnut shells made use of very innovatively to make a cluster of flowers to make a frame. We have painted them in lively acrylic and sparkling acrylic colours and the end result is beautiful. We have used it to decorate a frame you could use them to enhance just anything that requires to be embellished. Instead of groundnut shells one can use pistachio shells too and paint them similarly.

STEP 1

We are going to make a lovely handmade frame with very basic recycled materials. Since it is a shell art frame, we will take groundnut shells you could also use pistachio shells. Stick the shells to one another with Fabric Glue and form few flowers out of it.

STEP 2

Paint the flowers with a base coat of Acrylic Colour - White 27.

STEP 3

Paint the flowers in a shading effect using Acrylic Colours Pearl - White 301, Golden Yellow 308 and Rose Pink 310. Leave it to dry.

STEP 4

Take the flap of the recycled corrugated box measuring 15” x 12” in size. Draw and cut the inner window by leaving a 1” border from all the sides. Paint the border using Acrylic Colour - Sky Blue 63. Let it dry.

STEP 5

Stick the jute sheet from the rear side of the frame using Fabric Glue.

STEP 6

Draw and paint the words “ Home Sweet Home” on the jute base using Acrylic Colour - Sky Blue 63. Outline the words with 3D Outliner Non Sticky Glitter - Gold 401. Arrange and stick the shell flowers aesthetically on the frame using Fabric Glue. Stick the satin ribbon from the rear side of the frame using Fabric Glue. Your handmade frame with shell art is ready for you to gift or adorn your door. These are great shell craft ideas one can incorporate on a lot of the other projects like a mirror can be bordered with shells, pen stands too can be embellished with shells, etc.
