Glass Bottle Birds

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Crimson 04, White 27, Fevicryl 3D Outliner Red 701, White 707, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Glass Bottles From Scrap, Clay Carving Tools, Pencil, Paper Cutter, Rolling Pin, Colour Palette, Water Container

Have some bottles lying around which you want to upcycle and are looking for some inspiration, here it is.  Just a few Fevicryl products and you have a masterpiece on your hands.

STEP 1 : Source the base
  • Take plain glass bottles. we have taken 1 small and 1 big bottle to make a pair.
STEP 2 : Mix Fevicryl Mouldit
  • Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 3 : Make a slab
  • Take the dough, roll it to make the medium thin slab with rolling pin.
STEP 4 : Mould the birds
  • Take the slab and cover the bottles with the slab by shaping it
  • Take some clay to make the body of the bird, the wings, the tail, the legs using clay carving tools and Fabric Glue.
  • Take some clay to make the beak using clay carving tools and fabric Glue for sticking.
  • Let it dry.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 5 : Paint the base coat
  • Paint the birds with Acrylic Colour Black 02.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Paint the design
  • Draw and paint simple floral design on the body of the birds and the stippling effect on the necks using Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry.

STEP 7 : Finishing
  • Enhance the floral design with Acrylic Colour Crimson 04, 3D Outliner Red 701 and White 707.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
