Volume Decoupage Name Plate
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl - White 301, Sparkling Pearl - Dark Copper 314, Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Colour Palette,Volume Decoupage Sheet Red Lily, MDF Wooden Decoupage Placemat ,Water Container, A4 Sized White Paper, Yellow Carbon Paper, Golden Lace or Thick Cord (1 meter)
Description :
Volume decoupage are plastic sheets with beautiful floral prints. These printed designs are then cut and raised in relief by giving them little heat from a candle flame. Arrange and stick them in an arrangement of your choice on any surface you desire to beautify
STEP 1
Take a rectangular shaped MDF wooden decoupage placemat for the base
You may choose the square, circle, or an oval shaped placemat instead
STEP 2
Colour it in a slightly shiny off whitish shade made by mixing Pearl - White with a tinge of Sparkling Pearl - Dark Copper
You may give 2 to 3 coats for an even finish
STEP 3
Cut out the printed floral shapes, the buds and the leaves from the volume decoupage sheet
Cut it finely
STEP 4
To emboss the flowers, hold the flower cutout on the flame of the candle
Hold the flower about 1 and 1/2 inches away from the flame so as not to burn the flower as well as your hands
Once the flower is heated up, it will start becoming soft and would deform a bit
Place the flower at this soft stage, on the embossing pad and emboss it using an embossing tool
Emboss one petal at a time, you may need to repeatedly heat the flower to emboss it's different parts
Keep aside all the embossed flowers, leaves and buds
STEP 5
Arrange and stick the embossed flowers on the coloured placemat using No Stitch Fabric Glue
Leave it to dry
STEP 6
Write the name you desire to draw first on an A4 sized white paper
Trace it on the placemat using carbon paper
STEP 7
Stick a thick golden coloured cord on the traced name and also border the placemat using No Stitch Fabric Glue
