Tribal Art Decor With Papier Mache

A simple yet beautiful décor this is! Made with an amalgamation of tribal motifs and papier mache this is a super way to make best use of the waste.
STEP 1 : Make papier mache
- We are going to make the paper mache base to paint the tribal design.
- Take white paper, tear into small pieces, soak it in little water to make the paper soft, remove the excess water by placing it on the corrugated box flap.
STEP 2 : Prepare the base
- Take this papier mache in the plastic bowl; add Fevicol MR and little amount of Talcum powder.
- Take the square base of corrugated box flap to make it little hard. Place the papier mache on the cut square using Fevicol MR for sticking.
- Take the tissue paper and stick it on the surface to make it little smooth using Fevicol MR.
- Pierce the holes towards the top to attach the strings and beads.
- Let it dry completely.
- Refer to the image.
STEP 3 : Paint the base and draw the design
- Paint the base with Acrylic Colour White 27.
- Let it dry.
- Draw the tribal motifs of the animals and the border design on the base.
STEP 4 : Paint the design
- Paint the design with Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02 and Dark Brown 05.
- Leave it to dry.
- Your final design will look like this.
- Take thick wooden stick from nature like this.
STEP 5 : Assembly
- Take the wooden stick, colourful wooden beads and jute thread. Pass the thread through the beads and the paper mache base and attach it to the stick aesthetically.
