Navratri is a time to rejoice and have fun. Why shouldn’t this spirit reflect in your décor too? Here we are with a cute pair of Navratri dolls that will create a festive vibe around you, made with Fevicryl products.
We are going to make the navratri dolls using the terracotta kulhad and Mouldit. Take plain prewashed terracotta kulhad.
Pierce three holes at the bottom of the kulhad. Refer to the image.
Take the metal wire, twist it with the help of the pliers to make the body structure of the doll, cover the metal structure with masking tape neatly. Refer to the image.
Take Fevicryl Mouldit – resin base & hardener, mix well to form an even soft dough. Roll the dough further to make the slab with a rolling pin.
Take some clay to make the face, hands of the doll and a rolled slab to make the garments of the doll. Use clay carving tools or a paper cutter for ease and creating texture and Fabric Glue for sticking. Let it dry completely. Refer to the image.
Take the tissue paper and wire to make the structure of the legs of doll, cover the leg structure with rolled slab using Fabric Glue for sticking. Let it dry.
Paint the dolls with Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Golden Yellow 09, Orange 17, White 27, Flesh Tint 30, Cerulean Blue 32, Leaf Green 62, Deep Brilliant Purple 64, Coral Red 66 and Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Black 306. Let it dry.
Paint the leg attachment with Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Flesh Tint 30, Orange 17 and Leaf Green 62. Let it dry.
Take the thread to attach the legs to the dolls The take wooden beads and paint the beads according to the dress colours of the dolls. Take a cobbler thread and attach the thread to the dolls along with the beads on the top. Your dolls will look like this.
