Description :

This art is one of the ancient times from the amber fort of Rajasthan also known as sheesh mahal. The mirror mosaics and colored glasses were tourist attractions for the palace. We have tried this mirror mosaic mural by reviving this art form.

STEP 1 : Prepare the cone

Take a plastic bowl, make a mixture of white cement, Fevicol MR and a few drops of water to make a smooth paste. Take a plastic sheet and masking tape to make the cones, fill them with this mixture and secure the ends well. We are going to make a design using cone work on a mirror with white cement and Fevicol MR.

STEP 2 : Draw and trace the design.

Take a plain mirror, measuring 10” x 12” in size. Take an all-surface pencil, draw a design of a big vase and flowers in it inspired from the Amber fort in Rajasthan. Fill up the design with the prepared mixture of the cement and Fevicol MR in the cone. Let it dry completely.

STEP 3 : Finished look with cone work

Your design on the mirror will look like this.

STEP 4 : Paint the design

Paint the plaster surface with a light shade of Fevicryl Acrylic Colour - White 27 and Sky Blue 63. Let it dry. Paint the area of the mirror with Glass Colour - Pink. Let it dry completely. Take a 10”x 12” canvas board, stick the painted mirror on it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
