Transform a plain tunic with a beautiful Kalamkari design, using vibrant fabric colours and intricate detailing to create a stunning wearable piece of art. 

STEP 1 : Procure the Base

Begin by selecting a plain terracotta-coloured tunic for painting. 

STEP 2 : Draw and trace the design
  • On A3 white paper, draw a Kalamkari design. Trace the design onto the upper part of the tunic using White carbon paper.  

  • Ensure the design is centered on the upper section of the tunic. 

STEP 3 : Paint the Design
  • Start by painting the leaves of the design with Fevicryl Fabric Colour Sap Green 221.  

  • Allow it to dry completely. 

STEP 4 : Finishing Touches
  • Complete the rest of the design using Fabric Colours Black 202, Chrome Yellow 203, and Sky Blue 263.  

  • Once dry, attach the Sky-Blue tassels and beads along the chest line with a needle and thread. 

STEP 5 : Final look

Your Kalamkari tunic is ready to wear, showcasing a unique hand-painted design.
