Lotus theme with a lot of foliage round is how we painted this simple jewellery box. Attention has been paid to the way the painting has developed, making it a stunner of a piece.

STEP 1 : Source the base material
  • We are going to paint a wooden jewellery box with a lotus composition.
  • Take a plain wooden box.
  • Take A4 white paper, draw a composition of lotus flowers and banana leaves on it, in the size of the lid of the box.
STEP 2 : Paint the box.
  • Paint the box by dividing it randomly with colour patches of Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Black 02, Orange 17, White 27, Sky Blue 63 and Greenery 67.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Trace the design.
  • Trace this design on the lid of the box with red carbon paper.
STEP 4 : Paint the design.
  • Paint the design in a shading manner using Acrylic Colours - Black 02, Dark Brown 05, Orange 17, Sap Green 21, Yellow Ochre 26, White 27, Sky Blue 63 and Coral Red 66, Greenery 67.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 5 : Final Touches.
  • Create a dotted design all over the box to give a simple textured effect with 3D Outliner - White 707.
  • Let it dry completely.
