Gundiyali Art Earthenware

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Black 02, Dark Brown 05, Orange 17, White 27, Fine Art Brushes, Terracotta Ware (Bowls, Bell, Pot), White Pencil, Colour Palette, Water Container

Description :

Gundiyali pottery that's nestled in the area of Kutch, Gujarat is our inspiration here. Typified by their distinct red (geru) shade that’s derived from the soil native to the land. Our earthenware is painted in the same style using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours with traditional patterns on it. 

STEP 1 : Source the base

Take terracotta earthenware of shapes that you fancy. We have taken an assortment of a bowl, bell and a pot. Wash them well and leave them to dry overnight.

STEP 2 : Paint the base coat

Give the bowl a base coat of reddish brown made by mixing Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Dark Brown 05, Orange 17. Let it dry.

STEP 3 : Creating the patterns

Using a white pencil make patterns around the periphery of the bowl.

Similarly, draw patterns within the bowl too.

STEP 5 : Paint the design

Start painting the bowl using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Black 02, Dark Brown 05, Orange 17 & White 27.

STEP 6 : Enhancing the pattern

Enhance the pattern both around and within the bowl by painting tiny dots with White 27.

STEP 7 : Final look

These are the assortment of terracotta earthenware that are now ready for festive & special occasions.
