Delve into some tribal art with this DIY! Gond is tribal art of Central India and is abstract and colourful. Make a unique décor for your preferred corner at home with this recipe.
STEP 1 : Draw the design on fabric
- We are going to make the Gond art wall décor painted on a piece of fabric.
- We are going to paint the design with Acrylic Colours and the Patterns with 3 D Outliners.
- Take A3 white paper, draw the stag design tree of life with birds on it.
- Take the light green cotton fabric piece measuring 10 ½” x 13” in size. Trace the same design on the fabric with black carbon paper.
- Refer to the image.
STEP 2 : Paint the design
- Paint the design with Acrylic Colours Acrylic Colour Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Crimson 04, Golden Yellow 09, Orange 17, Ultramarine Blue 23, Yellow Ochre 26 and White 27.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 3 : Paint the patterns
- Paint the patterns design with 3 D Outliner Red 701, Yellow 703, Light Green 704, Orange 705 and White 707.
- Let it dry completely.
STEP 4 : Source the base
- We are going to stick this painted fabric on jute fabric. Take the jute fabric piece measuring 12” x 16” in size.
STEP 5 : Assembly
- Take the painted light green fabric, fold on ½” from all the sides evenly and stick it on the jute fabric base with Fabric Glue. Leave it to dry.
- Fold the jute fabric from both the ends by 1 ½” and secure the ends with Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
- Fray the jute fabric from two opposite sides.
- On the top make a tunnel fold for the stick to pass.
- Attach the wooden stick on the top of the hanging.

STEP 6 : Attach the tassels
- We are going to make a few fabric cone tassels with green, maroon and yellow fabric pieces.
- Attach the cone tassels below the wall hanging with needle and thread
- Your Gond Art wall décor is ready.
