Take an A3 size white paper. Draw a rectangle approximately 10” x 12” in size. Draw the outline of the hand fan with Kutchi Bharat motifs. Take a Fine Art Canvas Sheet. Trace the same design on the sheet with yellow carbon paper. We are going to make a fabric fan inspired by the Kutchi Bharat and Lippan art influences, made using mirrors and Fevicryl Range of products.
Stick round foil mirrors at equal distances on the fan shape using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
Paint the design with Fevicryl Acrylic Colours - Chrome Yellow 03, Light Green 12, Orange 17, Ultramarine Blue 23 and a little amount of White 27. Let it dry completely. Refer to the image.
Stick the assorted glass mirrors and the foil mirrors along with the cobbler thread, to create the effect of Lippan art using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Leave it to dry.
Cut along the shape of the fan neatly with a pair of scissors. Similarly, mark and cut the same shape of the fan from the sheet, to stick on the rear side for a more finished look. Take the wooden stick and yellow fabric to make the frill and loop for the stick to attach the fan.
Mark and cut a piece of fabric, to make a pipe shaped loop for the stick, as the handle for the fan. Take a broad strip from the yellow fabric, fold it in a fanfold manner, to make the frills for the fan. Iron the frills neatly. Stick the frills from the rear side of the fan using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry completely. Similarly, make a pipe shaped loop and secure the ends towards the rear side of the fan using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
Take the orange woolen pom-poms and the woolen thread. Attach the pom-pom with the thread and pearls towards the upper side of the fan. Stick the plain canvas sheet in the shape of the fan from the read side using Fevicryl Fabric Glue for a finished look. Your fan will look like this.
