You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Crimson 04, Fevicryl 3 D Outliner Non Sticky Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Fevicryl 3 D Outliner Non Sticky Glitter Gold 401, Silver 402, Red 405, Fevicryl Water Based Glass Colours Kit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fevicol MR, Card Papers (White, Red, Beige, Maroon), OHP Sheet, Printed Card Papers ( Cup Cakes, Geometrical And Floral Designs), Pencil, Ruler, Paper Cutter, Scissors, Zig- Zag Scissors, Half Cut Pearls, CD Marker, Straw, Red Felt Cloth Piece.

DIY Mother’s Day Card
A simple card may not convey everything you feel about your mom, so here is an exploding card DIY which will convey the most. Make this explosion greeting card and tell her whatever she needs to know! Learn how to make this exploding card here! Gift her this beautiful paper craft project and make her feel special.

STEP 1

Take half imperial sheet of red card paper. We have used floral template here which is based on hexagon shape. Our explosion card template includes three slightly different sized floral shaped layers. Refer to the image. Use a ruler to make your lines crisp and straight. Keeping everything as straight as possible will be very important in this project. Carefully fold each layer neatly.

STEP 2

The first layer of floral explosion card will look like this when we fold it.

STEP 3

We will make the second layer of flower using a cream card paper in a similar way. The second floral layer will look like this.

After folding the second layer will look like this.

STEP 5

Similarly we will make a third layer in a floral shape and it will look like this.

STEP 6

We have created a 4th layer which with red card paper and looks like a ‘+’ sign. Then take a broad strip of beige coloured card paper measuring 3” x 14” in size. Make an accordion fold with the strip. We will use each fold to stick an image. We will stick the accordion fold card in the center of the ‘+’. Stick your pictures with your mom on each folded part and stick that in the center of the “+” sign using Fevicol MR. Let it dry.

STEP 7

Take a cute printed paper and make small envelopes from it. Stick it onto the ‘+’ shaped card and also on the top layer of the accordion card using Fevicol MR. Cut the small sized heart out of the red card paper and stick it onto the printed paper with Fevicol MR. Let it dry. Write small mom quotes on a red card paper and put it in the envelopes. Refer to the image.

STEP 8

Then we move to the second layer of the flower. Take the cupcake print card paper. Draw and cut the petal shapes in the shape of the petals of the third layer flower. Stick the cupcake print petals neatly onto the petal with Fevicol MR.

STEP 9

Take an OHP sheet. Draw and paint few butterflies with 3 D Outliner Non Sticky Pearl Metallic Gold 352 and water based glass colours of your choice. Let it dry. Cut along the outlines of the butterflies and stick it on the petal shapes of second layer flower using Fabric Glue.

STEP 10

Take a white card paper. Create the bubble effect on it using Acrylic Colour Crimson 04 and little amount of soap with the help of the straw. Let it dry. Draw and cut 6 same sized hearts out of it. Write few quotes on the hearts for your mom using a CD marker.

STEP 11

Stick the painted hearts on the petals of the outermost layer of flower using Fevicol MR. Let it dry. Do refer to the image.

STEP 12

You can make some more hearts using 3 D Outliner Non Sticky Glitter Gold 401, Silver 402 and Red 405 along with the glass colours and the felt to decorate your explosion card. Put all of your layer pieces together. Start with layer 3 on the very bottom and position layer 2 so that it is nestled on top of layer 3. Use Fevicol MR on the rear side of each layer in the center and stick the layers neatly. Refer to the image.

STEP 13

Enhance the top of the card by sticking half cut pearls and the felt hearts using Fabric Glue.

STEP 14

Similarly stick a readymade satin ribbon bow with Fabric Glue. Your beautiful exploding card is ready. Make this beautiful DIY Mother’s Day card and surprise her!
