Description :

Create a stunning decorative chopping board inspired by traditional Kerala Mural Art, known for its intricate depictions of deities, floral motifs, and mythological scenes.

STEP 1 : Prepare the Base
  • Start with an MDF chopping board. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any dust for a smooth painting process and better adhesion of the colours.
STEP 2 : Apply the Base Coat
  •  Apply a base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27 to the MDF board using a wide brush.
  • This will make the mural colours pop.
  • Allow the base coat to dry completely.
STEP 3 : Draw and Trace the Design
  • Draw a Kerala mural design on A4 white paper.
  • Trace this design onto the MDF board using yellow carbon paper.
STEP 4 : Paint the Design
  • Begin painting the design with Acrylic Colours - Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Golden Yellow 09, Light Green 12, Orange 17, White 27, Cerulean Blue 32, and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Carefully blend and layer the colours to achieve the rich, detailed look typical of Kerala mural art.
  • Allow it to dry.
STEP 5 : Final Touches
  • Once the main painting is done, go over the outlines and finer details with a thin brush to sharpen the design.
  • Allow the paint to dry completely.
  • Your Kerala mural art-inspired chopping board is now ready to be showcased as a piece of functional art.
