You Will Need :

Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Buckram, Casement Fabric, Woollen Yarns in Various Colours, Big Wooden Beads (2), Googly Eyes, Paper Tape Base, Foam Sheet, Badge Clip/Saree Pin, Paper Scissors, Fabric Scissors, Pencil, Compass, Comb, Rough Waste Cloth

Cute and fun badges made out of woolen yarns and fevicryl fabric glue that can be given away as gifts to your relatives and friends to remember the good times everyone had during the festival of Eid-ul-Adha

STEP 1 :
None
  • Collect different kinds of yarns and different colours of yarns you would want to use for this project.
  • We have taken woolen yarns as seen in the image.
STEP 2 :
None
  • Take a big scotch tape ring as seen in the image above.
STEP 3 : Wrapping of yarns
None
  • Take the yarns that you have chosen and start wrapping them around the ring as seen in the image
  • Go in the sequence of white-colour-white
  • Wrap more white yarn than the colour yarn.
STEP 4 :

  • Remove the wrapped yarns, fold it in to half
STEP 5 :

  • Tie the folded yarns in the middle as seen in the image.
STEP 6 :

  • Tie the folded yarns in the middle as seen in the image.
STEP 7 :

  • Cut the edges using fabric scissors.
STEP 8 :
None
  • Trimming of pom-pom.
  • Trim the wild looking pompom to make it look neat and almost round as seen in the image.
STEP 9 :
None
  • Take small piece of buckram and casement fabric.
  • Draw a circle measuring 1.25inch
  • Cut them using fabric scissors
  • To avoid fraying of the fabric, apply Fevicryl Fabric Glue around the circle as seen in the image
STEP 10 :

  • Stick both the circles on top of each other.
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry
STEP 11 : Drawing of bakri face
None
  • Take the foam sheet and draw the outline of the bakri’s face on it as seen in the image.
STEP 12 :

  • Cut the face using paper scissors.  
STEP 13 :

  • Take googly eyes and three small pieces of white wool
STEP 14 :
None
  • Stick the eyes, nose and mouth as shown in the image.
  • Stick it using fevicryl Fabric glue.
  • Let it all dry
STEP 15 : Making of dangling legs
None
  • Take the yarns used to make the pompom and measure about 7-8 inch.
  • Take many strands as we need to add thickness to the dangling legs
STEP 16 :
None
  • Knot them together on one side and push in a wooden bead after the knot as seen in the image.
STEP 17 :
None
  • Secure the yarns on to a surface with a tape and start braiding as seen in the image.
STEP 18 : Make two such braids.
None
  • It is up to you how long you want the legs to be.
  • Make sure to trim the edges on both sides once braiding is done.
  • Tie the edges with a strand of woolen yarn.
STEP 19 : Attaching the pompom

  • Take the pompom created and stick it on to the fabric circle which was made previously
  • Now take the pompom with the base and stick it on to the braids
  • Make sure the beaded part of the braid is downwards and seen
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry
STEP 20 : Attaching the face
None
  • Stick the face on to the pompom as seen in the image
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry

 

STEP 21 : Finishing of back
None
  • Take another piece of casement fabric, cut it into a circle and paste it at the back as seen.
  • This covers the yarn and gives it a good finish.
  • Take the badge pin/saree pin and stick it at the back as seen in the image.
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry

 

STEP 22 :
None

This cute and fun looking baa badge is ready to be given out to your near and dear ones on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
