Saree Pocket
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Cotton fabric, Buckram, OHP sheet, Paper cutter, Black marker, Fabric, Paper scissors, Scale, Fevicryl Acrylic Pearl Metallic Gold, Anchor thread, Gold dori, Button, Lace, Hook, Paper tape, Poth in different colours, Cutdana, Moti (gold), Sponge, White pencil, Tooth pick
Description :
Create a very handy and stylish saree pocket using Fevicryl Fabric Glue and Fabric Colours that will not only keep your hands free from carrying a purse but also can hold your mobile or just stashing your emergency lipstick and eyeliner!
STEP 1 : Draw or trace the design
Draw/trace the design of your choice on a tracing paper using pencil.
STEP 2 : Transfer the design on an OHP sheet
Transfer the design on to an OHP sheet using the marker. Convert the design into a stencil by cutting out the design as seen above using paper cutter.
STEP 3 : Cut the buckram
Cut a piece of buckram measuring 17” x 3.9”. Cut it using fabric scissors.
STEP 4 : Cut the Fabric
Cut two pieces of fabric measuring 17.5” x 4.5”. Cut it using fabric scissors. 0.5” is left on all four sides for sticking.
STEP 5 : Sponge dab the Colour
Attach the stencil on to one piece of red fabric, and sponge dab Pearl Metallic Gold on to it as shown in the image above. Use a sponge to dab the colour. Let it dry. Repeat this on the whole fabric piece.
STEP 6
The fabric piece must look like this once the sponge dabbing is done. Make sure to leave gap all around as seen in the image above before printing on the fabric. Do This on the second strip of fabric as well.
STEP 7
Place the buckram fabric on the backside of the second fabric strip and stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. MAKE TWO SIDES OF THE WHOLE PIECE rounded by cutting them using Fabric scissors. Apply Glue on the edges of the piece as seen in the image above. Let it semi dry, post which you can stick them by folding them on the the buckram. Let it dry.
STEP 8
8. Cut a piece of buckram measuring 3.5” x 6” using fabric scissors. By increasing 0.5”, cut two fabric pieces measuring 4” x 6.5”. Once the fabric is cut, Sponge dap the stencil print onto these two pieces of fabric as well. Let it all dry.
STEP 9
Apply some Fevicryl Fabric Glue on the buckram piece and stick it on the red cut fabric. Let it dry.
STEP 10
Stick the printed fabric on one side and the pocket fabric on the other side at the bottom as shown in the image above using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry. Attach a yarn at the top of the pouch as shown to create a loop using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry
STEP 11
Give the whole pouch an outline of poth beads stitched using needle and thread. Also attach a tassel to the loop.
STEP 12
Decorate the flap of the pouch with cutdana and poth as shown in the image above using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
STEP 13
Create a holder made out of fabric which can be stuck at the back on the pouch using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. This holder will be used to secure the clip that will help the pocket stay on your garment.
STEP 14
The saree pocket is ready to be used during any event to place your phone and emergency makeup fix.
