By Hobby Ideas

Difficulty Level Intermediate

This paper bin is made using basic techniques in decoupage with Fevicryl Modge Podge and a project for beginners to make a good start.

how to do it yourself

STEP 1:-

Take a wooden bin and colour it in a base coat of light blue shade made by mixing Acrylic Colours White and Cerulean Blue
Leave it to dry
You may give two coats for even finish

STEP 2:-

Cut 4 butterfly motifs from the decoupage paper and 8 small and big circles small from the printed scrapbook paper for the flowers

STEP 3:-

Stick the circles and the butterflies on the painted bin using Fevicryl Modge Podge.
Apply an even layer of Fevicryl Modge Podge on the back of the butterfly and the circles and stick them gently on the bin pressing it from the centre towards the edges. This will avoid any air bubbles appearing while sticking
Stick the butterflies and the circles in an arrangement of your choice

STEP 4:-

Finger dab Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow for the petals of the flowers
Colour the grass and the leaves for the flowers
Leave it to dry

STEP 5:-

Give an even coat of Fevicryl Modge Podge on the design as a varnish
Leave it to dry
