You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Orange 17, White 27, Flesh Tint 30, Cerulean Blue 32, Coral Red 66, Greenery 67, Fevicryl 3 D Outliner Red 701, Blue 702, Yellow 703, Orange 705, White 707, Black 708, Fevicryl 3 D Outliner Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Antique Gold 356, Fevicryl Water Based Glass Colours (Sea Blue), Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, 5” X 7” Size Canvas Boards, A4 White Paper, Yellow Carbon Paper, Pencil, Small piece of Tie and Dye fabric, Gota Patti Lace, Ball Chain, Colourful Threads, Sequins, Ornamental Assorted Stones, Mirrors, Paper Canvas, Felt Cloth Sheet (White, Orange), Scissors, Colour Palette, Water Container.

Description :
Make quirky Onam canvases and gift them to friends and family! Made using mixed media aren’t these a real treat!
STEP 1 : Source the base
• We are going to make the mixed media canvases for Onam. • Take canvas board measuring 5” X 7” in size.
STEP 2 : Drawing the design
• Take an A4 white paper; draw a kathakali dancer face on it. • Trace the same face on the canvas board with yellow carbon paper.
STEP 3 : Painting the canvas
• Paint the kathakali face with Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Orange 17, Coral Red 66 and Greenery 67. Let it dry. • Enhance the head gear (crown) of the dancer using Gota Patti Lace, Ball Chain, Colourful Threads, Ornamental Assorted Stones, paper canvas for the chin collar and stick using Fabric Glue. • Paint the background of the kathakali face with Acrylic Colour Coral Red 66 and Orange 17. • Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Make Elephant on canvas
• Take an A4 white paper, draw the face of the elephant with caparisons and trace the design on the canvas with a yellow carbon paper. • Decorate the background of the elephant face using a piece of Tie and Dye fabric, Gota Patti Lace, Sequins, Ball Chain, Colourful Threads, Ornamental Assorted Stones, Mirrors using Fabric Glue for sticking purpose. • Enhance the caparisons with3 D Outliner Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Antique Gold 356. • Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Making boat canvas
• Similarly draw and trace the boats on the remaining canvas. • Paint the background sky line around the racing boat in shading effect using Cerulean Blue 32 and Greenery 67. • Paint the water and the waves with Water Based Glass Colours Sea Blue, 3 D Outliner Blue 702, White 707, Black 708, the umbrellas on the boat with 3 D Outliner Red 701, Yellow 703 and Orange 705. • Leave it to dry. • Take the pieces of white and orange felt cloth. Draw and cut clouds and sun out of it. Stick the clouds and the sun appropriately in the sky with Fabric Glue. • Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Assembly
• Your Onam Festival Canvases will look like this.
