Let's Tessellate Coasters

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fevicryl Acrylic Colours White-27, Ultramarine Blue-23, Prussian Blue-19, Black-02, Deep Brilliant Purple-64, Crimson-04, Wooden Coasters (4), Wool (Dark Blue, Light Blue, Light Pink), Yellow Carbon Paper, Pencil, Tracing Paper, Design Sheet, Water Container, Brushes (1,4)

Description :

Set of 4 wooden coasters with yarn painting done on them which can be used to add colour and design element to your otherwise plain coffee table.

STEP 1 : Source the base
  • Take 4 wooden coasters measuring 4” x 4”
STEP 2 : Paint the base.
  • Paint the base using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour White using a brush.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Transfer the design
  • Choose a design of your choice: here a tessellation has been chosen as it can be manipulated in different ways as seen in the image
  • Transfer the design on to the coasters using yellow carbon paper and pencil.
  • Make sure to leave 0.5” on all 4 sides.
STEP 4 : Coaster 1
  • Paint the motif in the middle using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour (combination of Crimson-White) and brush.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Sticking of light blue yarn
  • Place the light blue yarn around the design as shown in the image.
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry
STEP 6
  • Stick the dark blue yarn around the light blue yarn as shown in the image.
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry.
STEP 7

Coaster 1 is ready.

STEP 8 : Coaster 2
  • Paint the motif in the middle using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour (combination of Crimson-White) and brush.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 9
  • Paint the bigger motif in the coaster using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour (combination of Prussian Blue-White) and brush.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 10 : Sticking of yarns
  • Use pink and blue wool to stick around the design.
  • Stick it using fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry
STEP 11 : Coaster 3
  • Paint the outside of the main motif and stick all three woolen yarns as shown in the image.
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry
STEP 12 : Coaster 4
  • Colour the crosses with blue and use pink and light blue yarn to fill up the rest of the coaster
  • Stick it using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.
  • Let it all dry

These beautiful yarn painted coasters are ready to be used.
