Leaf Shaped Pooja Thali
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Shilpkar Non Sticky, Fevicryl Soft Acrylic Pearl - White 501, Sparkling Gold 712, Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue, Fevicryl Water Based - Glass Colours - Golden Yellow 852, Crystal Green 854, Fine Art Brushes, Colour Palette. Description :
This leaf shaped pooja thali is made using the basic technique of printing designs on clay surface. Print a shape of a leaf on a slab using an actual leaf. You may use the leaf of your choice for printing. You may make lovely trays or centre table pieces, by making small and big leaf prints to decorate your homes
STEP 1
Take 4 packets of Shilpkar to make the pooja thali
Mix Shilpkar Resin Base and Hardener thoroughly to make an even dough
Leave to the dough to set for 10 min
STEP 2
Take the Shilpkar dough and place it on an OHP sheet and make a slab using a rolling pin
The rolled slab is of about 3 to 4 mm thick and big enough to take the leaf print that you have selected
STEP 3
Place the peepal leaf with its rear side down on the slab and roll with the rolling pin on the leaf
You may rub a little talcum powder on the slab to avoid the leaf from sticking on the slab
Remove the leaf from the slab carefully
Cut out the leaf with a sharp paper cutter
STEP 4
Turn the edges of the leaf upwards to make it into a leaf shaped platter
STEP 5
For making the turmeric and kumkum holders, take some properly mixed Shilpkar dough and make a slab
Press the slab on the acrylic coloured bottle using it as a mold to give it a bowl shape
STEP 6
Paint the platter by giving a base coat of Acrylic Pearl - White and the turmeric and kumkum holders using Acrylic Sparkling - Gold
The top coat is painted in green made by mixing Water Based - Glass Colours - Golden Yellow and Crystal Green
STEP 7
Stick the green stones on the rims of the turmeric and kumkum holders using Fevicryl No Stitch Fabric Glue.
