You Will Need:

STEP 1 : Cutting the fabric

• We are going to make the fabric doll of ravana. • Take the pieces of white cotton fabric. • Mark and cut two similar squares approximately 6” x 6” in size.

STEP 2 : Drawing the design

• Take an A4 white paper; draw the Ravana with his 10 heads on it. • Trace the same on one of the square with yellow carbon paper. • Refer to the image.

STEP 3 : Paint the design

• Paint the design with Fabric colours Burnt Sienna 201, Black 202, Crimson 204, Yellow Ochre 226, White 227, Flesh Tint 230, Coral Red 266 and Acrylic Colours Sparkling Pearl Emrald Green 908. Leave it to dry. • Similarly paint the rear side body of the Ravana on another piece of the fabric with similar Fabric colours . Let it dry. • Cut along the outline around the figure by leaving the 1” fabric from all the sides for sticking.

STEP 4 : Making the doll

• Attach the two parts of the fabric with the painted figure using Fabric Glue or needle and thread. • Let the glue dry completely. • Fill up the fabric doll with the cotton and secure the end with Fabric Glue. Let it dry. • Make sure that when you are making the doll it should be a standee doll. • Enhance the garments, the crown and the jewellery using Acrylic Colours Pearl Orange 317, Acrylic Colours Sparkling Pearl Poppy Red 901, Emrald Green 908 and Acrylic Colours Pearl Metallic Gold 352. • Let it dry.

STEP 5 : Enhancing the doll

• Take a piece of paper canvas to make the crown and jewellery of the Ravana. Paint the crown and the jewellery with Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352 and 3 D Outliner Pearl Metallic Gold 352. Let it dry. • Enhance and decorate the crown and the jewellery by sticking assorted Ornamental Stones, Half Cut Pearls, Red and Golden Beads, Blue Lace, Golden Ball Chain, Diamond Chain with Fabric Glue and give the effect of the pearls with 3 D outliner Pearl Metallic Gold 352. • Leave it to dry. • Your fabric Doll of the Ravana is ready.
