Description :
Found some nice printed tissue papers and would like to create some thing crafty, then this box and tray are decorated using the decoupage technique with Fevicryl Modge Podge, tissue papers. It's a technique that you can use to decorate a whole lot of other stuff to enhance your home decor and make it look splendid and attractive.
STEP 1
Take a wooden decoupage tray
Mix Acrylic Colours - Black and Pearl Metallic - Gold to make a dull antique shade of gold.
Give a base coat of antique gold colour to the tray
You may give two coats for an even look
Leave it to dry
Take a printed tissue paper and cut the design in the size of the tray
Place it in the centre or in any other arrangement of your choice
Apply Fevicryl Modge Podge Gloss evenly on the tissue paper gently with a soft flat brush starting from the centre towards the edges, taking care not to tear the paper and stretch it as well
When you apply Fevicryl Modge Podge its creamy and opaque but will dry clear even if there is a little thick layer left on the tissue paper
Leave it to dry
Fevicryl Modge Podge is a glue as well as a varnish that forms a protective layer on the tissue paper
Paint the walls of the tray in bands of Acrylic Colours - Black, Orange and Pearl Metallic Gold
Leave it to dry
STEP 2
Take a wooden decoupage rectangular box
Paint the box in Acrylic Colours - Golden Yellow and Orange in a gradation
The lid is painted in Golden Yellow
Repeat the same process for sticking the printed tissue paper for decoupage
Similarly, you can also use the same technique on fabric that you are not going to wash very often. We have done this tissue paper decoupage on a jute fabric as seen in the image
