Festival season is for all things colourful and vibes that are filled with fun and grandeur. Here is a decorative latkan that we have made with resplendent shades and hues. A great DIY that you can make and customise it perfectly with your outfits for the Festival.
We are going to make the latkan for the festival garments using Fabric Glue and 3 D Outliners. Take half a meter beige colour cotton fabric.
Draw 6 circles measuring 3.5”, 2.5” and 1.5” diameter in size on the fabric.
Cut 6 circles to make the latkan.
Draw and paint the mandala design by embedding the assorted foil mirrors using Fevicryl 3D Outliner Red 701, Blue 702, Yellow 703, Light Green 704 and Orange 705. Let it dry.
Your final design of the latkan will look like this.
Take silver cord, tassels, golden beads and colourful kawri shells to make the strand. Take the painted circles. Attach and stick the same sized circles by passing the strand through the circles sandwiching the cord in between using Fabric Glue. Let it dry. Refer to the image.
You can attach this latkan to enhance the look of the garments. Refer to the image.
