Use Fevicryl Mouldit and Acrylic Colours to bring toys to life for your home décor.
STEP 1 : Source the base material
- Take two packets of Fevicryl Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
- Take the dough, shape it to make the parrot in simple way. Make two such parrots of same size. Leave it semi dry. Take the metal wire and make the loops out of it. Attach and insert the metal loop towards the tail of the parrot further to make it functional. Similarly Pierce the hole towards the legs of the parrot with the help of the metal wire. Leave it to dry.
STEP 2 : Procure the base for attachments.
- Take the MDF Wooden place mat, mark and cut a rectangular shape measuring 1” x 8” in size. Pierce the hole in the wooden placemat by leaving 1” distance from the edges.
- Take some dough, make four small sized arches. Let it semi dry.
- Pierce similar holes on the arches and leave them to dry.
STEP 3 : Paint the Parrots
- Paint the parrots with Acrylic Colours Black 02, Crimson 04, White 27, Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Neon Yellow 011, Green 012 and Orange 017. Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Finishing touches
- Stick the small sized arches on the placemat in opposite directions using a little amount of fabric glue. Let it dry.
- Refer to the main image for the placement and the size of the arches. This will look like a see-saw base.
- Paint the base and the arches with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27. Let it dry. Paint the second coat of Acrylic Colour Light Green 12 and Neon Pink 018 and paint small sized flowers on it with Neon Yellow 011 respectively. Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Final look
- Take the metal wire and the wooden beads and assemble the parrot on the arches in a see- saw manner. Assemble both the parrots in opposite directions.
- Take the thread, pass it through the loop as well as from the pierced hole of the wooden placemat.
- Your Chanapatna toy is ready to play with.
