You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, Lemon Yellow 11, Light Green 12, Orange 17, White 27, Sky Blue 63, Coral Red 66, Greenery 67, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Golden Yellow 308, Fevicryl Fabric Colours, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Bronze 355, Fevicryl 3 D Cone Outliner Non Sticky Blue 702, Fevicryl 3 D Cone Outliner Non Sticky Pearl Pink 303, Green 304, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Small Piece of Any Plain Fabric (Approx 5” X 4”), Scissors, Clay Carving Tools, Barbeque Stick, A3 Card Paper (Red), A4 Card Papers (Yellow, Orange), Thread, Pencil, Ruler, Paper Cutter, Colour Palette, Water Container.

Description :
Gudi Padwa is the time to celebrate the traditional New Year in Maharashtra. Celebrate this auspicious occasion by making a customized handmade card and gifting it to your friends and family.

STEP 1 : Fold the card paper.
• Take an A3 red card paper, mark and cut the paper measuring 16” x 9 ½” in size. • Fold the paper in the centre to make the card.
STEP 2 : Draw and cut lotuses
• Take yellow and orange card papers, draw and cut the ornamental lotus flower design out of it.
STEP 3 : Draw the doodle design
• Take the cut out paper with lotus shaped yellow and orange flower. Stick the yellow flower on the orange flower with Fabric Glue. • Draw and paint the doodle flower design on the orange paper along with the border using Acrylic Colours Coral Red 66 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352. • Leave it to dry.
STEP 4 : Mixing the clay
• Take Mouldit resin base and hardener; mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 5 : Making ornaments and kalash
• Take the dough to make the kalash, the mango and neem leaves, the sugar candy ( battasa/ shakkarpara), the garland of marigold flowers out of it. • Make sure that when you are making the Kalash, the leaves and the flowers use pinching technique to make it. • Take the thread and stick the Marigold flowers and the sugar candy on the thread with Fabric Glue. • Let it dry. • Refer to the image.
STEP 6 : Paint the embellishments
• Paint the Kalash, the leaves, the sugar candy and the garland of marigold flowers with Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, Lemon Yellow 11, Light Green 12, Orange 17, White 27, Coral Red 66, Greenery 67 and Pearl Metallic Bronze 355. • Leave it to dry.
STEP 7 : Painting the saree fabric
• Take the piece of the fabric (colour of your choice). • Draw and paint the border design on the piece of the fabric to depict the saree which is traditionally using in the Gudi which is hoisted on the day of Gudi Padwa using Fabric Colours of choice and 3D Cone Outliner Non Sticky Pearl Pink 303, Green 304. • Let it dry.
STEP 8 : Assembly
• Arrange and stick the Kalash, the painted piece of fabric, leaves, sugar candy and garland of marigold flowers aesthetically on the card with the barbeque stick to depict Gudi, the symbol of the New Year using Fabric Glue. • Let it dry. • Write the message “Happy Gudi Padwa” in the center with Acrylic Colour Coral Red 66. • Leave it to dry completely.
