You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, White 27, Teal Blue 68, Neon Pink 018, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, 8” Diameter MDF Disk, 4” Diameter MDF Ring, A3 white paper, Yellow Carbon Paper, Pencil, Clay Modelling Tools, Paper Cutter, Assorted Mirrors, Colour Palette, Water Container.

Description :

A vibrant mandala name plate, meticulously painted with acrylic and pastel shades, features intricate geometric patterns and floral motifs. The name plate is designed to be both a decorative element and a functional piece, with a clear space for a name or address. The overall style of the painting conveys a sense of peace and tranquility, with the mandala's circular form symbolizing unity and balance. 

STEP 1 : Prepare the base and trace design
  • We are going to make the Mandala Name plate inspired by lippan Art using MDF disk, Fevicryl Mouldit and Fevicryl Acrylic Colours.  

  • Take A3 white paper draw the mandala design on it in the size of the Disk.  

  • Take 8” Diameter MDF disk, paint the disk with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27.  

  • Let it dry.  

  • Trace the same design on the disk with yellow carbon paper.  

STEP 2 : Paint the design & prepare the clay
  • Paint the mandala design along with the 4” diameter ring using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, White 27, Teal Blue 68 and Neon Pink 018.  

  • Let it dry.  

  • Take Mouldit resin and hardener, mix well to make even dough.  

  • Take the dough, roll it to make the coils to build the lippan design. 

STEP 3 : Build the design
  • Take the coils and start sticking the on the painted mandala using Fevicryl Fabric Glue.  

  • Take some clay to make the creeper design also with the help of the Clay modelling tools and Fabric Glue.  

  • Let it dry. 

  • Refer to the image. 

STEP 4 : Prepare the base and assemble
  • Take the plank measuring 5” x 16” in size.  

  • Paint the plank with similar combination as of the mandala design using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours.  

  • Take some clay and make the similar design like the mandala on the border of the plank using clay modelling tools and Fabric Glue.  

  • Let it dry.  

  • Stick the mandala disk on the plank using Fabric Glue.  

  • Let it dry.  

STEP 5 : Make the clay letters
  • Take some dough, roll it to make the slab with rolling pin, mark and cut the surname incisal from the slab for the name plate.  

  • Let it dry.  

  • Paint the letters with Acrylic Colours White 27 and Chrome Yellow 03.  

  • Let it dry. 

STEP 6 : Finishing touches & final look
  • Stick the assorted mirrors on the mandala and on the plank with Fabric Glue.  

  • Paint the lippan design with Acrylic Colour White 27.  

  • Let it dry.  

  • Refer to the image.  

  • Stick the letters of the surname on the nameplate with fabric Glue. 

  •  Your mandala design with lippan art nameplate is ready.
