Won’t it be great if we can recycle all the plastic waste into something so beautiful! In this DIY you will learn how you can transform something as commonplace as a plastic colour bottle into an artefact.


how to do it yourself

STEP 1:- Sourcing the base

• Take the plastic container in cylindrical shape. (We have taken the Fevicryl Acrylic bottle of 500 ml.)

STEP 2:- Cutting the bottles

• Take a smaller aerated drink bottle.
• Mark and cut the plastic bottle and the neckline of the container.

STEP 3:- Joining the neck and the base

• Take the masking tape and join the bottle with the container in such a way that it will look like the vase using masking tape.

STEP 4:- Cover the base

• Cover the container vase by sticking newspaper on it using Fevicol A+.
• Let it dry completely.

STEP 5:- Sticking tissue paper

• Cover the vase with one layer of Tissue paper using Fevicol A+.
• Let it dry completely.

STEP 6:- Painting the base

• Paint the vase with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27.
• Leave it to dry completely.
• Draw the sun from the traditional Madhubani art along with the border design.

STEP 7:- Painting the design

• Paint the vase with Madhubani design using Acrylic Colours Black 02, Crimson 04, Dark Green 06, Lemon Yellow 11, Orange 17, Prussian Blue 19, White 27, Deep Brilliant Purple 64 and Teal Blue 68.
• Let it dry.
• Enhance the design with 3 D Outliner White 707 and Black 708.
• Paint few polka dots around the sun with Acrylic colour Prussian Blue 19.
• Leave it to dry completely.
