Description :
Gudi Padwa is also celebrated as the New Year in Maharashtra. Let us welcome good vibes and fortune with this DIY Toran made with Fevicryl Glass Colours.
STEP 1 : Drawing the design on OHP
• Let us make a Toran with Kalash motifs for the festival of Gudi- Padwa using glass colours.
• Take an A4 white paper; draw the design of the kalash on it.
• Place an OHP sheet on the drawing and outline the design with 3D Outliner Glitter Copper 409.
• Let it dry completely.
• You have to make 5 such Kalash motifs on OHP sheet.
STEP 2 : Painting the design
• Paint the motif of Kalash, coconut along with the mango leaves with Water Based Glass Colours Tomato Red 851, Golden Yellow 852, Crystal Green 854 and Orange 860. (You can use your own combinations of the colours).
• Leave it to dry.
STEP 3 : Cut outs
• Cut along the outlines of the Kalash with a pair of the scissors.
STEP 4 : Stinging the cut outs
• Pierce a hole towards the top of the coconut.
• Take the golden cord, red, green and golden beads; pass the cord through the breads to make a bead strand. Attach the tassels too.
• Attach the beaded strand with the small metal rings to the painted Kalash motifs neatly to complete the look of the toran.
