Table Engraved Tiles For Hot Pots

How lovely are these cute little tiles for you dining table. Make them in a jiffy with Fevicryl products and spread an extra cheer.

STEP 1 : Mix Mouldit
  • We are going to make tile for the dinning table to keep hot pots using Mouldit
  • Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 2 : Make Mouldit Slabs
  • Take the dough, roll it to make a medium thick slab with rolling pin.
  • We will need 5 Mouldit packets to make 4 tiles.
  • Let the slab get semi dry.
  • Mark and cut 5” x 5” diameter tile shapes out of the slab.
STEP 3 : Cut the shape of vegetable
  • We are going make the red radish tile.
  • Take the rolled slab, mark and cut the radish shape and few leaves out of the slab.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Assembly of the base
  • Take the MDF base measuring 5” x 5” in size.
  • Stick these clay tiles on the MDF base measuring 5” x 5” in size.
  • Let it dry.
  • Stick the cut out of radish on the slab with Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
  • Make sure that the radish will be embossed and create the texture of the ground by engraving with clay carving tools.

STEP 5 : Paint the tile
  • Paint the radish tile with Acrylic Colours- Chrome Yellow 03, Dark Brown 05, Dark Green 06, Light Green 12, Yellow Ocher 26, White 27, Deep Brilliant Purple 64 and Greenery 67.
  • Paint the tile with Water Based Glass Colour Golden Yellow to give the ceramic look.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 6 : Make some more
  • Similarly we have made the carrot, the onion the green peas, engrave and embossed tiles with clay.
  • Paint these tiles with Acrylic Colours- Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Dark Brown 05, Dark Green 06, Light Green 12, Turquoise Blue 22, Yellow Ochre 26, White 27, Deep Brilliant Purple 64, Coral Red 66, Greenery 67, Sky Blue 63 and little amount of Glass Colours to give the glazed look of the tiles.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
  • You can also paint the coat of varnish to preserve the colours of the tiles
  • Your set of tiles will look like this.
