This raksha bandhan, gift your rakhi in A beautifully handcrafted box shaped like A book! Made using corrugated sheet and detailed with mouldit clay, this unique DIY creation is painted with love and care—making it the perfect keepsake. A creative and meaningful way to present your rakhi and show your brother just how special he is.

STEP 1 : Procure the base

We are going to make the Rakhi Box in shape of the book using corrugated sheet and Mouldit. Take the rectangle piece of the corrugated sheet.

 

 

STEP 2 : Cut the book shape

Mark and cut the book shape measuring 2 X 2 ½ In size.

STEP 3 : Make the shape

Make the folds to shape the cover of the book. Refer to the image.

STEP 4 : Create the box in the book

Take corrugated sheet and create small box inside the book like the match box. Stick the box inside the book shape using Fevicol MR. Let it dry.

STEP 5 : Make the clay cover

We are going to make the book cover with Mouldit Clay. Take Mouldit resin and hardener, mix well to make even dough. Take the dough, roll it to make the medium thin slab with rolling pin. Mark and cut the slab in the size of the book cover. Let it get dry. Stick  the clay slab on the cover using Fabric Glue. Refer to the image. Your book with the box for rakhi is ready.

STEP 6 : Paint the cover

Paint the cover using Acrylic Colours Mauve 15, Orange 17, Teal Blue 68 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352. Let it dry.

STEP 7 : Paint the message

Paint the inner side of the box with Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Mauve 15, Orange 17, Flesh Tint 30, Cerulean Blue 32 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352. Let it dry. Write message to the brother  Free Mein Rakhi Nahi Bandhungi with Acrylic Colour Black 02. Let it dry.

 

STEP 8 : Finishing touches

Place the rakhi inside the box for Gifting or to send it by post.

STEP 9 : Final look

Your Rakhi Box will look like this.
