You Will Need:

The biggest harvest festival calls for some special decoration. Here is an beautiful dangler made with Fevicryl range of products to add that zing to the décor.  

STEP 1 : Mix Fevicryl Mouldit
  • We are going to make a wall décor piece to celebrate the festival of harvest, Pongal using the traditional motifs like the auspicious mango leaves, the terracotta pot of Pongal to depict a new harvest of rice, the Kolam rangoli and the marigold flowers using Mouldit, MDF coaster and colours.
  • We are going to make the Mouldit motifs of Pongal first.
  • Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 2 : Roll the dough
  • Take the dough, roll it to make the medium thin slab with a rolling pin.
STEP 3 : Make the leaves and pots
  • Make and cut the shape of mango leaves and terracotta pots out of it.
  • Let it get semi dry then pierce the holes on the opposite sides and make the veins of leaves of it with clay carving tools.
  • Let it dry.

STEP 4 : Make and paint the pot
  • Take the dried clay pot shape, paint and decorate the pot with Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Orange 17, White 27 and assorted glass mirrors sticking with Fabric Glue.
  • Similarly stick the rice grain on the top side of the pot with Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 5 : Finishing and assembly
  • Similarly make the layered marigold flower with clay
  • Paint the mango leaves, the marigold flowers, the MDF coaster with simple Kolam design using Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, Orange 17, White 27, Leaf Green 62, 3 D Outliner Pearl Metallic Gold 352 and White 707.
  • Let it dry.
  • Enhance the Kolam rangoli by sticking the glass mirrors with Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
  • Take the golden cord, the wooden beads and golden tassels, attach the motifs together aesthetically for the festival of Pongal.
