You Will Need:

These clay discs are transformed into miniature works of art with the intricate pointillism technique. The artist meticulously applies tiny dots of paint, creating a mesmerizing mosaic effect that captures the vibrancy and texture of a ripe pomegranate. The combination of the earthy clay base and the colorful pointillism creates a unique and captivating piece.

STEP 1 : Procure the Base

We are going to paint the pomegranate design on MDF disks with mixed mediums like Fevicryl Pastel Acrylic Colours, Mouldit and Glass Colours.
Take 3 MDF Disks with 8” diameter in size.

STEP 2 : Paint the base coat and trace the design

Take A3 white paper, draw 3 different designs with Pomegranate with Flowers on it.
Paint the base coat of Fevicryl Acrylic Colours White 27.
Let it dry.
Trace the same design on the disks with yellow carbon paper.

STEP 3 : Paint the background

Paint the background of the Pomegranate with Fevicryl Pastel Acrylic Colours.
Let it dry.
Refer to the image.

STEP 4 : Prepare the clay and build the design

We are building a few parts from the design and border of the disk with Mouldit.
Take Mouldit resin and hardener, mix well to make dough even.
Take the dough to build the parts of the Pomegranate using clay Carving tools and Fabric Glue.
Let it dry.
Paint the rest of the design with the outline using 3D outliner Black 708.
Let it dry.

STEP 5 : Paint the design

Paint the design with appropriate shades of Glass Colours.
Let it dry.
Refer to the image.

STEP 6 : Finishing touches and final look

Paint the dots on the background of the Pomegranate using Fevicryl Pastel Acrylic Colours.
Let it dry completely.
Your MDF disks with Pomegranate are ready.
