Pichwai Panel Wall Decor

STEP 1 : Take the base
  • We are going to paint the Pichwai design on MDF placemats and frame it to make the beautiful panel for the wall.
  • Take 3 plain MDF placemats in square shape.
STEP 2 : Paint the base and draw the design
  • Paint the MDF with Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Take A3 white papers, draw the Pichwai design on it in with different backgrounds on it.
  • Trace the same design on the MDF with yellow carbon paper.
STEP 3 : Mix Mouldit
  • We are going to make Pichwai motifs like the face of Lord Shreenathji and the pair of cows with Mouldit.
  • Take the Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 4 : Make motifs out of the slab
  • Take the dough; roll it to make a medium thin slab with a rolling pin.
  • Mark and cut the outline of the face of Lord Shreenathji, the pair of cows out of the slab.
  • Take the clay and build the details of the head gear ( pheta of shreenathji), the jewellery of the Shreenathji and the bells in the neck of the cows with the clay using little amount of Fabric Glue for sticking.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 5 : Paint the motifs
  • Paint the background and the Cows using motifs like the plantain leaf (banana leaf) with Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Light Green 12, Orange 17, Sap Green 21, White 27 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Let it dry.
  • Stick the cows appropriately on the MDF with Fabric Glue.
  • Leave it to dry.
STEP 6 : Assembly
  • Paint the background and the Cows, The Shreenathji and the lotus flower print using motifs like the water waves with Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Light Green 12, Orange 17, Pink 18, Prussian Blue 19, Sap Green 21, White 27, Cerulean Blue 32, Sky Blue 63, Neon Pink 018 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Leave it to dry.
  • Stick the face, the cows appropriately on the other painted MDF with Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
  • Make the wooden frame to the MDF like this.
STEP 7 : Finishing
  • Paint the wooden border with the traditional pichwai border design using Acrylic Colours Black 02, Crimson 04, Orange 17, Pink 18, Sap Green 21 and White 27
  • Leave it to dry.
