Patachitra Wall Décor
You Will Need:
Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Light Green 12, White 27, Teal Blue 68, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, MDF 4” X 12”, Round MDF Disk 2” Diameter, Clay Modelling Tools, Pencil, Colour Palette, Water Container
Description :
Craft an elegant wall décor piece featuring Patachitra designs of Jagannatha, Subhadra, and Balram. This project blends traditional Indian art with clay modelling and painting to enhance your home décor.
STEP 1 : Procure the Base
- We are going to make the wall decor with Patachitra design using the faces of Jagannatha, Subhadra, and Balram.
- Take an MDF plank measuring 4” x 12” and MDF small disks measuring 2” in diameter.
- Pierce holes on the plank for enhancement.
STEP 2 : Paint the Base Coat
- Paint the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27. Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Draw the Faces
- Take the round disks and draw the faces of Jagannatha, Subhadra, and Balram on them.
STEP 4 : Paint the Faces
- Paint the faces with Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, White 27, and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
- Let them dry.
STEP 5 : Make the Clay Arch and Paint the Plank
- Take Mouldit resin and hardener, mix well to make an even dough.
- Use the dough to make a small arch shape from the slab. Let it dry.
- Stick the arch on the plank using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.
- Draw and paint the Patachitra border design, the lotus motif, and circular design with petals on the plank using Acrylic Colours Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Light Green 12, White 27, Teal Blue 68, and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
STEP 6 : Finished Look of the Plank and Faces
- Your painted plank and circles with faces will look like this.
STEP 7 : Stick the Faces
- Stick the faces on the plank aesthetically using Fabric Glue. Let it dry. Refer to the image.
STEP 8 : Final Look
- Take colourful beads and tassels to make a beaded strand.
- Attach the strand to the plank to make it look more elegant.
- Attach a thread to hang it on the wall. Refer to the image.
