How auspicious is this festival of Navratri when we have each day blessed with a Goddess! Here is a cute painting DIY of Navadurga on wood for décor.
STEP 1 : Drawing
• We are going to paint the Navadurga on MDF coasters with Acrylic colours.
• Take an A3 white paper, draw the idols of Navadurga with the animals, flower they are sitting on (vahan/ vehicle of the goddess) and their respective weapons in the hands in the size of the coasters on it.
STEP 2 : Painting the base
• Take the MDF coasters measuring 4” x 4” in size.
• Paint the coasters with a base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27. Leave it to dry.
• Then paint the coasters with Acrylic Colours Sky Blue 63 and White 27 by giving the effect of the clouds.
• Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Tracing the design
• Trace the same designs of Navadurga on the painted coasters with yellow carbon paper.
• Similarly trace the rest of the Durgas on the other coasters.
STEP 4 : Painting the design
• Paint the Navadurga coaster design with Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Chrome Yellow 03, Crimson 04, Mauve 15, Orange 17, Sap Green 21, Violet 25, White 27, Cerulean Blue 32, Leaf Green 62, Sky Blue 63, Salmon Pink 65 and Neon Pink 018
• Leave it to dry completely.
STEP 5 : Finishing
• Write the names of each Durga towards the top of the coaster in Devnagari with Acrylic Colour Crimson 04.
• Let it dry.
• Your coasters with the Navadurga will look like this.
