Lotus Diya With Mouldit

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Fevicryl Mouldit, Fevicryl Fabric Glue, Fine Art Brushes, Rolling Pin, Clay Carving Tools, Paper Cutter, Terracotta Diya, Colour Palette, Water Container

Mouldit can turn even the very basic product into art and here is one such inspiration, lotus diyas to bring about good fortune into your home during Diwali. Read more for the method.
STEP 1 : Source the base
- We are going to make the lotus diy using Mouldit to make the petals of the lotus around the terracotta diya.
- Take the pre washed terracotta diyas.
STEP 2 : Mould the petals
- Take the Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
- Take the dough, roll it to make the medium thin slab with rolling pin.
- Let the slab get semi dry, mark and cut the petals of the lotus out of it.
- Stick the petals appropriately on the terracotta diya using Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Paint the base
- Create the lines design on each petal with clay carving tools.
- Let it dry completely.
- Paint the diyas with the base coat of Acrylic Colour Black 02, wipe out the colour from the diya.
- You will get to see the colour is left behind only in the grooves.
- Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Paint gold on top.
- Paint the diya with the antique metal look using Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
- Let it dry.
