Here is a DIY take on the traditional dolls of Kondapalli. Made with a range of Fevicryl products these can add that ethnic touch to your décor!

STEP 1 : Mix Fevicryl Mouldit
  • We are going to make the Kondapalli doll using Mouldit.
  • Take Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 2 : Roll the dough
  • Take the dough, roll it to make a medium thick slab with rolling pin.
STEP 3 : Mould the doll
  • Mark and cut the upper and the lower body shape of the doll by following the design of the Kondapalli doll.
  • Take some clay to build the face, the hair jewellery, the crown style jewellery, the half saree pallu, the skirt of half saree, the jewellery using clay carving tools and Fabric Glue for sticking.
  • Let it dry.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Paint the base coat
  • Paint the doll with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Paint the doll
  • Paint the doll with Acrylic Colours Black 02, Lemon Yellow 11, Crimson 04, Ultramarine Blue 23, White 27, Flesh Tint 30, Teal Blue 68 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Take the frame
  • Take the wooden frame with Aluminum jail further to stick the doll on it.
STEP 7 : Paint the frame
  • Paint the frame with Acrylic Colour Teal Blue 68.
  • Let it dry.
  • Draw and paint the small mandala design on the frame with Acrylic Colour White 27.
  • Let it dry completely.
STEP 8 : Assembly
  • Stick the doll on the jail using a little amount of the clay and Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry completely.
