Irish Fold Sling Bag

You Will Need:

Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, Prussian Blue 19, Sap Green 21, Violet 25, White 27, Teal Blue 68, Neon Pink 018, Fine Art Brushes, Old Dyed Fabric Pieces, A3 White Paper, Scissors, Ruler, 1 Meter Black Fabric, Tailoring Chalk, Colour Palette, Water Container.

A vibrant and eye-catching Irish fold sling bag crafted with a beautiful tie-dye fabric. The bag features a unique and colorful design created through the tie-dye process, showcasing a blend of deep indigo, purple, and white hues. The stitching is precise, ensuring the bag's durability and enhancing its overall aesthetic appeal.

STEP 1 : Procure the fabric
  • We are going to make the sling bag with Irish fold technique using the old pieces of Tie & Dye fabric.
  • Take such fabric pieces with Tie & Dye techniques.
  • Follow the colour scheme while choosing these fabric pieces.
STEP 2 : Cut the fabric & paint motifs
  • We are going to follow the template of Irish Fold technique to make the stripes of fabric. Take the pieces of fabric, cut the broad strips measuring 2” to 3” broad (width) and 12” in size length wise.
  • Fold the strip to get 1” broad band by securing the ends using Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
  • Draw & paint simple floral, leaves motifs on each band using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Chrome Yellow 03, Prussian Blue 19, Sap Green 21, Violet 25, White 27, Teal Blue 68 and Neon Pink 018.
  • Let it dry. Refer to the image.
STEP 3 : Build the shape
  • Follow the template and stick the fabric strips one on the other using Fabric Glue.
  • Let it dry.
  • Refer to the image.
  • Irish fold designs are ready to make the front and the rear side of the bag.
STEP 4 : Cut the black fabric
  • Take the black cotton fabric to stitch the bag, use simple template for stitching the sling bag.
STEP 5 : Stitch the bag
  • Your bag after finishing touches and the sticking will look like this.
