Galar Putul are traditional shellac dolls made in West Bengal. Make these cute little Ganesha dolls with Fevicryl range of products in the same style this Ganesh Chaturthi.
STEP 1 : Mix Fevicryl Mouldit
- We are going to make the Ganesha idols in Galar Putul style dolls with Mouldit.
- Galar Putul' more commonly known as Shellac dolls, it is a unique craft of West Bengal's Purba Medinipur District. They are brightly coloured, wonderfully textured miniature dolls mostly of deities, animals, and humans.
- Take the Mouldit resin base and hardener; mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
STEP 2 : Mould the dolls
- Take the dough, shape it to make the basic shape of Ganesha inspired from Galar Putul art.
- Let it get semi dry; then create the line texture on the crown with clay carving tools.
- Let it dry completely.
- Make 2 such dolls.
STEP 3 : Paint the base coat
- Paint the Ganesha dolls with the base coat of Acrylic Colour White 27.
- Let it dry.
STEP 4 : Paint the dolls
- Paint the dolls with Acrylic Colour Black 02 and Crimson 04.
- Leave it to dry completely.
STEP 5 : Add the details.
- Paint the details of the Ganesha dolls with Acrylic Colour White 27.
- Let it dry.
- Your Ganesha Dolls with Galar Putul style are ready.
