Here is an eclectic duo of Mixed media canvas with inspiration from nature around us. These are sure to give a rich and varied feel to your décor.
STEP 1 : Source the base
- We are going to make the canvas with flora and fauna design in mixed media.
- Take two 12” x 12” size canvas and 4 canvases in 6” x 6” size to make the mixed media design of flora and fauna in layers.
- We have divided 12” x 12” canvases in 4 parts, in which 2 parts will be the small canvases and the rest 2 parts will be the base of the big canvas.
- Refer to the image.
STEP 2 : Make the designs
- Take A3 white papers draw 2 different motifs design for the canvas, we have taken four motifs like bird, scorpion, moth and dragonfly for the small canvases and few floral jali design and the flowers design for the big.
- Trace the same design on the canvas using black carbon paper.
- Refer to the image.
STEP 3 : Emboss the designs
- Take the corrugated box flap to create the layers on the motifs, mark and cut the box flap neatly following the design with a paper cutter.
- Stick the box flap cutouts aesthetically on the motifs with Fabric Glue.
- Let it dry.
- Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Create a Mouldit layer
- We are going to create one more layer on the motifs using Mouldit.
- Take the Mouldit resin base and hardener, mix it thoroughly to make even dough.
- Take the dough, roll it to make the medium thin slab with a rolling pin.
- Let the slab get semi dry, mark and cut the motifs from the slab with a paper cutter.
- Stick the shapes appropriately on the motifs using Fabric glue refer to the image.
- Let it dry.
STEP 5 : Paint the base
- Paint both the canvases first with the shade of brown using Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Burnt Sienna 01.
- Let it dry.
STEP 6 : Finishing
- Paint the canvases with Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Crimson 04, Orange 17, White 27 and dry strokes of Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
- Leave it to dry.
