Description :

This year, make your Rakhi extra special with a handmade twist. Crafted using big and small wooden beads, these adorable DIY Rakhis transform simple materials into charming boy and girl figures—symbolizing the bond of love and protection. Perfect for adding a personal and playful touch to your festive celebrations.

STEP 1 : Procure the material

We are going to make Rakhi using Big and small Sized Wooden beads, we are converting the beads in to cute figures of the boy and girl. Take plain wooden beads for the same. Joint 2 beads together with Fabric Glue.

STEP 2 : Prepare the base

Take equal parts of Mouldit resin and hardener, and mix thoroughly until you get a smooth, even dough. Using Fabric Glue, gently cover the wooden bead with the clay, pressing it evenly around the surface. Shape additional clay to create decorative details — for example, sculpt the hair and add a small bow on top to form a girl's face or character. Use simple tools or your fingers to refine the features. Allow the clay to dry completely before moving to the next step. (Refer to the image for guidance on placement and design.)

STEP 3 : Paint the bead motifs

Paint the bead to depict the boy and the Girl using Acrylic Colours Burnt Sienna 01, Black 02, Crimson 04, White 27, Flesh Tint 30 and Teal Blue 68. Let it dry. Refer to the image.

STEP 4 : Finishing touches

Take the green and blue colour cord, plait the cord. Pass the plaited cord through the beads. Take the small sized beads to secure the ends on the cord. Stick few flower embellishments on the cord using Fabric Glue. Let it dry.

STEP 5 : Final look

Your Rakhi with the beads will look like this.
