Fevicryl Acrylic Colours Black 02, Crimson 04, White 27, Fevicryl Acrylic Colour Pearl Metallic Gold 352, Fine Art Brushes, MDF Square Pieces (Pendant And Earrings) 3” X 3” And 1 ½ “ x 1 ½”, Pencil, Jewellery Attachment, Red Tassels, Colour Palette, Water Container.

It is time to bring out the finery and deck yourself to the hilt to celebrate the arrival of Durga maa, and what better than to adorn some handmade jewellery. Here is an Alpona jewelery inspiration to get you started.

STEP 1 : Source the base and draw the design
  • We are going to make the pendant and the earrings inspired from the traditional art of Alpona rangoli art from west Bengal.
  • We have taken the fish motif for the pendant and small ornamental butta for the earrings.
  • Take A4 white paper, draw the fish motif and ornamental butta design in the size of the MDF piece on it.
  • Take the MDF pieces of the pendant and earrings.
STEP 2 : Paint the base
  • Paint it with the base coat of Acrylic Colours Black 02.
  • Let it dry.
STEP 3 : Transfer the design
  • Trace the same design on the pendant and earrings with white carbon paper.
  • Refer to the image.
STEP 4 : Paint the design
  • Paint the design with Acrylic Colours Crimson 04, White 27 and Pearl Metallic Gold 352.
  • Let it dry.
  • Pierce the holes on the pendant and earrings for further attachments.
STEP 5 : Do the attachments
  • Attach the pendant and earring attachments and tassels aesthetically to make it wearable.
