STEP 1 : Source the base

Take a corrugated sheet and cut a circle measuring 10” in diameter.

STEP 2 : Prepare the base

Cut broad strips of corrugated sheets and stick them on the base leaving a bit of a gap in between, using Fevicryl Fabric Glue. Refer to the image for accuracy and placement.

STEP 3 : Texturing the base

Apply a layer of Fevicryl Fabric Glue and stick thin sheets of tissue paper on it, to give it texture.

STEP 4 : Base is ready

Once textured the base is now ready for the tropical theme to be built on.

STEP 5 : Creating the elements – slippers, flowers and palm leaves

Slippers - Take a corrugated sheet and cut a shape for a pair of beach slippers using a paper cutter. The size being 6” roughly.

STEP 6 : Preparing the dough (for the slippers)

Take Fevicryl Mouldit – resin base & hardener, mix well to make an even dough.

STEP 7 : Clay slab technique

Roll to make a medium thin slab using a rolling pin.

STEP 8

Give form and body to the slippers by covering the cut corrugated slipper with the dough, in exact size and shape. Tuck in neatly with a paper cutter, to get a good finish. Create and stick the straps for the slippers using Fevicryl Fabric Glue, as seen in the image.

STEP 9

Flowers - Cut out small flowers from the clay slab like you see in the image.

STEP 10 : Paint the flowers

Paint the little flowers using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours – Chrome Yellow 03, Yellow Ochre 26 and White 27.

Palm Leaves - Also create palm leaves from the clay slab, big and small to be added later. Paint them in shades of green using Dark Green 06 and Yellow Ochre 26.

STEP 11 : Painting the base

Paint the base in beachy shades of blue-white and earthy sandy tones using Fevicryl Acrylic Colours – Chrome Yellow 03, Prussian Blue 19, Sap Green 21, Ultramarine Blue 23, White 27, Sky Blue 63 and Teal Blue 68. Let it dry.

STEP 12 : Sticking and painting the elements

STEP 13 : Assembly

Stick and arrange the palm leaves on the top of the base using Fabric Glue.
